Privacy

We collect one thing, and only if you hand it over: an email address, to send you the newsletter. That is the whole of it. Everything below is detail.

If you subscribe

We store your email address, the date, and which page you came from.

Nothing is sent until you click the link in the confirmation email. An address that never confirms is never mailed and is not a subscriber.

We do not ask for your name, and we do not track which links you click inside an issue.

Leaving

Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and your mail client’s own unsubscribe button works too. One click, no confirmation step, no questionnaire. The record of your address stays marked as unsubscribed so a later signup elsewhere cannot quietly put you back on.

To have the record deleted outright rather than marked, reply to any issue and ask. No form.

What we do not do

  • No analytics. No Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Meta pixel, no heatmaps, no session recording. We do not know how many of you are reading this page.
  • No advertising trackers. Nothing here follows you to another site.
  • No selling, renting or sharing of the list, ever, including to a future sponsor. Sponsors get an audience size, not an audience.

Cookies

One, and it is not for you: a session cookie set only if you sign in to /terminal, which is an internal tool for three people. Reading the public site sets nothing.

Third parties

  • Netlify serves the site and keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for a short period.
  • Resend delivers the email and therefore handles your address.
  • The typeface is served from this domain. It is bundled at build time, so loading a page here does not call Google.
  • Price data is fetched by our server, not by your browser. The exchanges we read never see you.

Links out

We link to the sources behind every story. Those sites have their own policies and most of them do track you. That is their doing, not ours, but it is worth knowing before you click.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, the LGPD and similar laws you can ask what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Since what we hold is an email address and a date, this is usually a one-line reply.

Reply to any issue, or write to us through the address in the newsletter footer. A person answers.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, we will say so in the newsletter rather than update the page quietly.
